About Me:

Since the day I was born I am on the water. During my working live I worked on cargo ships. Started as deck boy and worked my way up to captain. Since a few years I stopped working and are now a full time live aboard

Sailing Experience:

I bought my boat named " Mylady " in 1991 . Since I own her I live aboard. In 1996 I sailed from the Netherlands towards the horizon. I spent a few years in the Med before crossing. I sailed around NewFoundland and a year later only the south part of that beautiful place . Next were all Atlantic Islands before going trough the Panama Canal . I spent 11 years cruising the SW pacific. I was in Tasmanian, whole east coast Australia, New Zealand many times , Tonga , Fiji and Vanuatu. After the Pacific I went across the Indian Ocean to Madagascar and onwards to South Africa. After this destination I went up the north into the Atlantic. The last few years I was east coast USA and Canada. All together I made more then 100.000 nm

Sailing Qualifications:

Sailing Qualifications , a nice question. For sailing a dutch registered sailboat you don't need any paper at all.
But for the dutch merchant navy ( cargo ships ) I have a license " Master all Ships no limits " . I worked the last 10 years as captain on several cargo ships , world wide. .

Nautical Miles Logged:
A lot , probably more then 150.000 nm never counted the total
