I have lived on two Dutch Barges, one in Holland. And a narrowboat! Also four sailing yachts! Recently I sold my last floating home after my long time furry companion Left me to go to the Rainbow Bridge. Lost the heart of me! Now have a home on an island but am missing water under me day by day! I still sail on Thames Barges for pleasure and work ! Spending so much of my life on the water I feel content. Living on a small island is next best! It was always challenging doing the everyday maintenance on vessels by myself. Challenging to find a companion who would like to share my alternative lifestyle. So more fulfilling to see and experience adventures with a like soul!
