Sailed in one form or another since the age of 11, having lived in 8 countries around the world (including in Stockholm, Cape Town, Auckland, Gold Coast, Guernsey) but now well settled in Spain. Currently active competitive dinghy sailing and occasional yacht crewing. Qualified Yachtmaster Ocean with 30,000+++ logged miles (plus many more not logged during the past 20 years) including half in multihulls and more than half as skipper. Owned 3 yachts including a 38' catamaran. Much yacht racing, including crewing a 63' racing yacht in Cape-to-Rio race. Have lived aboard for a year in my own catamaran with minimal crew sailing from Durban to Auckland, with many brilliant experiences and memories. Many rental yachts as skipper, from a 52' Grand Large on down, in Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Thailand, Australia, BVI, etc. Most recently crewing a 47’ trimaran across Bay of Biscay and Finisterre in February. Experienced in pretty much all cruising and racing sailing roles from Skipper to Navigator, Weatherman, Race Helm, Race Tactician, Foredeck, Grinder (note the spelling) on down to Chief Bottle-Opener, and adaptable to any onboard situation.
