Sailing Experience:: I can’t remember. That would have been on my Dad’s wooden Folkboat, in the Solent, when I was maybe 7. He sold that and got a fibreglass boat with less character but less maintenance, then in 1973 upgraded to a new Nicholson 32 for the princely sum of £10,000. We used to sail the Solent from a mooring in Portsmouth Harbour - Cowes, Newtown, Beaulieu, Wootton Creek.
