Experienced world sailor. Home on an island near Sitka, Alaska . when not world saiing i've lived lived since the mid 70ties. Rtd. business owner, rersearch engineer for defense companies, marine surveyor, boat builder , taught celestial nav. in college there and now owner of a small sawmill company producing value added products from native salvage logs. Decided to see more of the world under sail and left with my ketch that iId built and had sailed 1 and 3/4 world circits before Left Alaska 2001 for Chile and continued around the Horn eastward with crew finished in 2005 Then years past from Alaska to Chhile for business and sail travel. Now two world circits later and tan Atlantic circuiit that included Cape Horn to the Antarctic island of South Georgia and north p;ast the arctic circle in Norway. and return Cape Horn. ()2010 -1013) Alaska as the goal next to return to but weather was dangerous on the route Micro nesian, Japan for that voyage and continued instead around the world west -back across the Indian Ocean to Chile 2014-2017. Still with Alaska in mind bought this 50 ft steel schooner, "AVENTURESS" here in Englnad for return by the NWP .. Boat wasn't ready in time for a NWP trip besides 2018 the ice stopped nearly all small vessels attempting that route. So it will be the SWP -the South WEST Passage- departing next month Jjuly Patagonia and buddy boating the ketch north. ow in the southern Ptagonia region of Chile. . - Sailing Experience:

Nearly 200,000 miles of sailing experience lots single handed. After finishing buiding my 46 ft lLOA COLIN ARCHER KETCH IN 1970 MY FIRST WORLD TRIP WITH MOM WAS BY THE USUAL WEST VIA S. PACIFIC NZ AUST. iNDIAN OCAEN SOUTH OF AFRICA AND PANAMA BACK TO ALASKA vARIOUS TRIPS FOLOWED ACROSS THE GULFL OF ALASKA AND HOME WATERS OF SE ALASKA FROM MY ISLAND I HOME NEAR SITKA. LlEFT FOR A VERY LONG PACIFIC CIRCUIT VIA S. PACIFIC, AUST AND NORTH THRU pHIL. iSL. JAPAN ALEUTIANS GULF OF ALASKA COASTAL TO SE ALASKA. 1980 /1984. MORE LOCAL SAILING AND LEFT IN 2001 FOR TWO WORLD TRIPS ONE TO THE EAST AND THE OTHER TO THE WEST AND AN ATLANTIC CIRCIT FRO CAPE ORN VIA SOUTH GEORGIA , CAPE tOWN , CANARIES, EUROPE, NORWAY AND RETURN VIA S AMERICA AND PATAGONIA THE OTHER WORLD TRIP LEFT TO THE WEST 2014 CHLE AND BACK VIA THE WEST IN 2017.

TAUGHT NAVIAGATION IN COLLEGE, ATTEN DED SEVERAL POWER SQUADRON COURSES MARINE LICENSED SURVEYOR AND HAVEN'T LOST A BOAT OVER 200,000 MILES OF SAILING CAME CLOSE THOUGH AS WAS SPEARED BY A SWORD FISH IN THE INDIAN OCEAN! HAD THE RIGHT AWAY HIT ABOUT A METER DOWN ON THE STBD SIDE GOOD I HAD LARGE BILGE UMPS !. .
