Leisurely Cruising East Caribbean

I am semi-retired Dutch citizen residing in USA; since 2017 cruising the SOUTH PACIFIC – now (since May 2024) cruising the CARIBBEAN. Eat mostly fish & vegetables but do, from time to time, eat meat – have no problem with crew eating meat. My plan is to have NO plan other than enjoy cruising the boat for a couple of months, then travel back to USA/EUROPE for a month or so and then back to the boat etc. etc. I am not a diehard fanatic sailor; when I am enjoying my life in USA/MEXICO/EUROPE I don’t miss the boat but when I am on the boat, I don’t miss my life on land.

Sail the Atlantic coast of France from Brest to San Sebastián, Spain

Cruise the beautiful Atlantic coast of France from Brest, Brittany to San Sebastián, Spain. The boat will sail at a leisurely pace, as weather patterns dictate, allowing for plenty of time in harbors, exploring the islands as well as the back country and enjoying the fine food of France and Spain. The cruise will be broken down in four stages from North to South:

June: from Brest to La-Trinité
July: from La-Trinité to Les Sables d’Olonne
August: Les Sables d’Olonne to Royan
September: Royan to San Sebastian

Along the trip we will visit the twelve best harbors on the Atlantic coast to sail into as rated by “Voiles” magazine. Most harbors visited are within fast rail connections to Paris.

We are making one or two (up to four crew) of the boat’s cabins available to friends on a weekly basis.

The sailboat is a very confortable, safe and well equipped Hallberg Rassy 342, a compact cruiser with shallow keel which allows for access to anchorages and inside-harbor mooring in busy season.
