Moody Owners Rally from Plymouth to Falmouth and the Isles of Scilly
You will need to be quick for this one as solentskipper is leaving on 28th July for the Moody Owners Rally. It looks like a great trip, here is his description:
“Departing Plymouth the morning of the June 28th, arriving in Falmouth late afternoon/early evening. The return trip will be on Monday or Tuesday to Plymouth but I will then be going to Dartmouth for the 10 July. The programme is as follows:
Friday 28th June
This year’s Rally will be located on the Truro River pontoon just below Malpas. This is a long way up the River Fal and then into the higher reaches of the Truro River. The usual superb Moody pontoon party will take place on Friday 28th from16:00 onwards. The rest of the evening is free, possibly to go ashore for a meal or eat onboard.
Saturday 29th June
We are travelling into Truro today to savour the delights of Truro’s shops, parks, hostelries and museum (which is optional). A guided tour of Truro Cathedral will take place at 14:00 for which there is a small £5 per person charge. Following this tour, we return to Malpas for the evening rally dinner which will take place at the famous Heron Waterside Inn. Our seating in the Inn is reserved for 18:00 and as the Inn becomes extremely busy they will require a £5 per person deposit. The list of Menu choices will be found on the Heron Inn site. You have a choice of the Main Menu or Vegan Options. Please make your choices from these menus and advise Len Cheshire.
Sunday 30th June
Today will be free for socialising, creek exploring or setting off on a summer cruise. On this note, some of us including our Captain Tony Wildig, are planning on a short cruise to the Isles of Scilly. The idea is to have a sail in company open to anyone wishing to join in. Full details will be discussed during the Rally and obviously subject to the weather forecast. This is an opportunity for those who have never been to the Isles of Scilly to make this journey in company with a few yachts that have been there before. Fair winds and following seas Paul SV Blaise”
