SuperYacht A – What else can you buy for £260 million?

This week it was revealed that the SuperYacht A is the world’s largest sailing yacht. Measuring in at 468ft in length and 300ft in height the SuperYacht A is estimated to be worth an astronomical £260 million.  Owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko the yacht has eight floors and an underwater observation room.

So this got me thinking, what else could you buy for £260 million if you didn’t fancy this UberYacht…

1.  All 150 of the limited edition Aston Martin DB9 GT Bond Edition and still have £235,250,000 in change.  Each of the 6.0 litre v12 sports cars would cost £165,000 but for that, they do include discreet ‘007 Bond Edition’ exterior badging!

2.  The Cullinan Diamond.  Valued at an estimated $400,000,000, at current exchange rates this amounts to approximately £258,765,692.00 so you’d get some change here too.  The Cullinan Diamond was named after Sir Thomas Cullinan who owned the South African mine where it was found on January 26, 1905. This diamond is 3,106,75 carats (621.35 grams) and the largest rough gem-quality diamond ever found in the world……so far!

3.  The Penthouse of the Tour Odeon in Monaco.  With an estimated value of $400,000,000 (260,000,000 Earth Pounds) this new 3,300 square metre penthouse with stunning views over the French Riviera comes with a water slide connecting a dance floor to a circular open-air swimming pool.  You also have the added benefit of living in a tax haven so all your hard-earned cash is hidden from the taxman, something to seriously consider when you are a billionaire.

4.  An awful lot of Mr Kiplings French Fancies.  Just over 137,566,136 packs in fact.  With 8 cakes in each pack that will be over 1 billion cakes to consume.  A better idea would probably be to buy the company that makes them instead.  Premier foods have a market cap of £260,110,000 pounds as at today’s price.  Buy the company and then you could not just have all the french fancies you’ve ever wanted but also Ambrosia Rice Pudding, Cadbury’s mini rolls and Oxo stock cubes.
