North Sea Regatta 2015
For 14 days the harbour of Scheveningen in Holland becomes the heart of the Dutch competitive sailing world. Yachts of all shapes and sizes will sail in to take part in the North Sea Regatta 2015.
This year the regatta starts on Tuesday 12th May and runs until Sunday 25th May. Spectators will witness the catamarans launch from the beach and the dinghies launch from the new ramp. Around 2,500 sailors will be taking part in the annual North Sea Regatta.
Nautical Events at Scheveningen
The first event of the North Sea Regatta is the Vuurschepenrace. This is a 110-nautical mile offshore race from Scheveningen towards Harwich. The yachtsmen will have to take on the challenges of the open ocean. Other events at the North Sea Regatta are the 180-nautical miles long North Sea Race back to Scheveningen, the Scheveningen inshore races and many onshore activities and entertainment in the party tent. An eclectic mix of boats, yachts and classic ships will be sailing out all week and participating in races around the buoys.
