Sailing Central America
Someone on here suggests to me that I start a blog so they can follow me on my adventure. So here goes.
I have a Beneteau 381 2 cabin one head sailboat. Turtle Speed
I find crew and then go off sailing. My home port is Key West Florida. This January 19th I casted my lines and headed southwest to Mexico. But I did a detour and landed in Cuba for 10 days sailing the northern coast to the west end. When I got to the west end of Cuba I sailed to Isla Mujeres Mexico. That took me 24 hours because of a strong 2.5kt current and only going 4.5 kts most of the time. I did the east coast of Mexico in 20 days doing 5 stops at different ports. Sailed to San Pedro, Belize on February 20th and still at this one marina because I am waiting for a Compass to come in mine broke and hopefully it will be here this Monday or Tuesday then load up the boat with food and drink and do a 5 to 6 day trip to Rio Deluce, Guatemala. There I will stay until the end of March because I have a sailor friend that is there.
When I get to Guatemala I’ll write again.
I also posted some pics on my profile
Anyone out there would like to join me drop me a line.
