Update
I’ve moved on to another position. Part time weekend instructor. I acquired my 214 ASA Certification and if I had known how much easier it is to manage a twin screw I would have done this a lot sooner. Just recently jumped on board a brand new loaded 49ft Jeanneau to help a family of seven learn to dock, undock, and day sail in heavy winds on Galveston Bay. This monohull was flying at 8.9 knots steadily. His wife fell asleep, the kids were down below in the ac. He was at the helm with his oldest son. I handled all the lines. No injuries except the working jib line block did get locked up under sail. Freed it the best I knew how and I flew across the cockpit. My watch sent a signal to call EMT. I had to laugh at that one.
