Looks like I'm in good company....I bought a boat
Hello sailors,
I was a little intimidated to sign up and post my future plans but as I looked around the sight I noticed there are a lot of people just like me here. I've been day sailing and racing on a local lake. I'm not crazy about the racing, it brings out the best and worst in some sailors, it's just not for me. I love to sail! I've taken ASA 101, 103, 104 and a number of courses through US Power Squadron. I'm ready right? I think so, so I bought a boat, She's a 1989 Freedom Yacht's 45cc. Just waiting for the Lawyering to catch up. The offer is accepted just working through the process. That's a story for another day. I'm ready to get started. I'd love to find good people who would like to shake her down with me and start cruising the Caribbean.
Are any of you familiar with the Freedom 45's? From what I've read and the Freedom owners blog, they are a great boat. I won't have the benefit of the owner sail her with me to learn the lines so to speak. From what I've been able to find out they aren't a complicated boat to sail.
Let's chat and see what happens...
All the best,
DTC
