Antigua Classics Dates:
The Antigua Classics runs from 18th – 23rd April 2013
The Antigua Classics Regatta is hosted by the Antigua Yacht Club and takes place before the more famous Antigua Race Week, and is a chance for the older, traditional yachts to show what they are made of.
The Antigua Classics Regatta starts with The Boat International Concours d’Elegance. The yachts are anchored in the Antigua Yacht Club Marina and it is a chance for the owners to show off their boats. They are judged and prizes are awarded for the best maintained boats. With over 50 yachts on show from traditional island craft, classic ketches, sloops, schooners to tall ships, it is truly a spectacular sight.
Then follows 3 days of racing, from and back to Falmouth Harbour. The races can be seen from the coast line from viewing points. The ideal sailing conditions of the Caribbean, coupled with the relaxed, friendly Antiguan hospitality, and not forgetting the sun and rum, its a regatta not to be missed.
